I have a few mechanical-type medical conditions and was told by several medical professionals not to do too much in the way of exercise, but I wanted to do more to help strengthen my body to help with these problems.
I joined the Hub in 2015 and started off with some yoga to ease me back into moving my body again. I know I can’t do any high impact exercise and was struggling to work out what I could and couldn’t do but I wanted to do more. So I started PT sessions with Charlie and it’s been amazing!
I now do weight training, which I absolutely love, and I can do so much more than I thought. Charlie has really understood my restrictions but brought out my strengths and given me loads of ways to support my weaker areas and this has made such a difference to my every day life. I know this sounds a little cheesy but when you’re on 10+ pills a day for pain, this sort of thing really does make all the difference!
I train at least 5 days a week now and every time I go there, the team are always so welcoming and helpful and there is a really good atmosphere in the gym, they have a great selection of machines and weights as well as a wide range of classes, it’s practically my second home now!
